    Kimbolton Repeat Rotary Quiz Success

Students claim victory for the second time in the St Ives Rotary Club inter-schools quiz.

A team of Kimbolton students has claimed victory for the second year running in the Rotary Club of St Ives inter-schools quiz competition. Captain Michael Millington, along with Lydia Carter, Umar Chaudhari, Ciane Hilborn, Zosia Gryf-Lowczowska, Rebecca Preece and Matt Smith, held their nerve in a nail biting finish - beating  St Ivo School into second place by just 5 points, with a total score of 167 out of a possible 207.

Each team was quizzed by a visiting Rotarian Quizmaster in their own school, simultaneously, with round by round scores rung into a central scorer. This made for a fun evening, with all the teams enthusiastically tackling questions about history, geography, general knowledge, maths, music and popular culture.

The President of St Ives Rotary Club, Mrs Moira Penney, along with Quiz organiser Mr Adrian Acton and Quizmasters Mr Richard Abington and Mr Alan Ward, visited Kimbolton today to present our winning team with a 'Top of the Form' Cup and a commemorative certificate.

Mr Acton said: “We have had tremendously positive feedback, not just from the children taking part, but especially from their teachers. The whole evening has been a great success, with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves; it is now an established annual event.”

We look forward to defending our title at next year’s quiz, on 1 November 2018!
