Field Weekend 2021
Our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) contingent is out on manoeuvres, while other year groups enjoy a variety of activities and trips.
It's Field Weekend at the Senior School! Members of our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) contingent are heading out on manoeuvres, while other groups are making use of the time for a variety of activities and trips.
In the School grounds and in local woods, Army, RAF and Navy cadets from the Fourth to Sixth Forms are undertaking training exercises, and camping overnight. The Navy cadets are additionally taking part in activities at Grafham Water and (weather permitting) at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth.
Meanwhile, members of our Community Service Unit have been planting Spring bulbs for the local community around Kimbolton, and carrying out general maintenance work in St Andrew’s church grounds and graveyard.
The Third Form is on a joint History and English trip to the National Memorial Arboretum, to study the key theme of Remembrance, especially linked to World War I. The Second Form is visiting Cadbury World and Bournville Village to complement studies of Fair Trade in Geography, and Quaker Philanthropy in Philosophy, Religion and Ethics.
Finally, the First Form is enjoying a team-building activity day in Northampton that includes karting, simulator racing, climbing, bouldering and caving. Phew!
