Our Prep School hosted Charities Day today, bringing together pupils, staff, parents and guardians, and the local community for a day dedicated to fun, fundraising, and philanthropy. The event was a resounding success, raising significant funds for charities The Wildlife Trust Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire, and The Holy Land Institute for the Deaf, while providing an educational and enjoyable experience for all participants.

The day began with pupils exchanging money for tokens, which were used to participate in the various activities planned throughout the day. During the morning, winners of the 'Guess the Pet' competition were announced, with prizes generously donated by the participating charities. Additionally, the winners of the much-anticipated Year 5 and 6 Bake-Off were revealed, with Izzy R. winning the small bakes section, Camille P. winning most creative, Eleanor S-W. winning the big cakes and Ben B. taking the special judge’s award.

One of the highlights of the morning was the 'Teacher Race', where teachers competed on the field to the enthusiastic cheers of pupils. The teachers winning the most votes, and therefore the ‘racers’ were Miss Bell, Mr Bull – dressed as a lobster, Mrs Lambert, Mr Stokes and Mrs Wilde.

In the afternoon, the school grounds transformed into a bustling fete, with stalls managed by different classes. Each class showcased unique games and activities, allowing students to spend their tokens in support of charitable causes. Representatives from the charities also set up their own stalls, providing information about their missions and encouraging further support.

Parents were welcomed to join the festivities in the latter part of the day. They had the opportunity to tour the stalls, participate in activities, and contribute to the fundraising efforts. The cake sale, organised by the School Council and run on the school green, was particularly popular, offering a delectable assortment of cakes baked by pupils, staff, and the school catering team.

Headmaster Mr Phil Foley, expressed pride in the pupils and staff for their dedication and enthusiasm:

"Charities Day not only raises vital funds for worthy causes but also teaches our pupils the value of giving back and working together for the greater good. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents, pupils, staff, and charity representatives who contributed to making this Charities Day a memorable and impactful event. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting the important work of the participating charities.”

By the end of the day, the combined efforts of the Kimbolton Prep School community resulted in a final total of £2734.43which will be split equally between the charities. The spirit of generosity and community involvement was palpable, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
