Pupils enjoy action-packed Christian Union residential in North Devon
This year’s annual Christian Union residential was a resounding success, with 35 pupils from Kimbolton School spending an action-packed week in North Devon.
This year’s annual Christian Union holiday in July was a wonderful trip with 35 pupils from Kimbolton School spending a week in North Devon in July. The group was based at St George’s House in Georgeham, an old rectory that has been converted into a Christian activity centre. The trip provided an exciting mix of adventurous activities, spiritual reflection, and a strong sense of community.
Throughout the week, pupils participated in a range of thrilling activities, including surfing, climbing, and kayaking. One of the highlights was a visit to North Devon Wakepark, where many pupils had the chance to try knee-boarding—a firm favourite amongst the group. Alongside these adventures, there were beach games and other engaging activities that kept everyone entertained.
What makes this trip particularly special is its inclusivity, bringing together pupils from every year group, from the First Form to the Upper Sixth. This unique aspect fosters a family atmosphere, perfectly embodying the school’s ‘One school, One family’ ethos.
In the evenings, the group gathered for meetings focused on ‘Lessons from the Life of Joseph.’ These sessions offered pupils the opportunity to reflect on the biblical story of Joseph and consider how its teachings can be applied to their own lives today.
Looking ahead, next year’s Christian Union holiday is already scheduled for 26 July to 2 August 2025. Pupils interested in joining are encouraged to contact Mr Gray for more details. This annual event continues to be a highlight of the school calendar, offering a perfect blend of adventure, faith, and friendship.
