Next month we will be welcoming a number of New Kimboltonians (NKs), who will be joining us at the start of the Autumn Term. We also have several new members of staff joining our community, including Mr Phil Foley, who will take up his role as Prep Headmaster from 1 September 2015.
Next month we will be welcoming a number of New Kimboltonians (NKs), who will be joining us at the start of the Autumn Term. We also have several new members of staff joining our community, including Mr Phil Foley, who will take up his role as Prep Headmaster from 1 September 2015. Mr Foley will succeed Mr Richard Wells who retires at the end of August. Though unable to join us for New Kimboltonians Day due to similar commitments at his previous school, we know Mr Foley is very much looking forward to meeting our pupils and parents after the summer break.
Mr Foley told us: “From the first moment I stepped into the Preparatory School I was struck by the warm, friendly atmosphere and the true sense of community that sets Kimbolton apart. To lead the Preparatory School is a real privilege and I look forward to building on the strong foundations that Richard Wells has laid, and to continuing the school’s long tradition for offering a truly first class, all-round education.”
Hugely experienced, Mr Foley was previously the head of a similar prep school and this will be his third headship. After achieving a first class honours degree at the University of Kent and then undertaking a spell in industry, Mr Foley has worked in a number of strong preparatory schools and has a teaching career spanning some 25 years. He is married to Caroline, also a teacher, and they have two teenage daughters - both of whom are trumpet players - with music a key part of family life. In his spare time, Mr Foley is also a keen cyclist and enjoys walking, citing the national 'three peaks challenge' as one of his significant accomplishments: namely to climb Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike in 24 hours!
We are sure you will join us in giving Mr Foley and his family, along with all the NKs and other new staff, a warm welcome to Kimbolton in September.
