    Music Exhibition for Prep Pianist

Eleven-year-old Finley Peake has scooped a music award after achieving exceptional results in his recent exams.

Kimbolton Preparatory School Music Exhibition Award WinnerTalented Prep pianist Finley Peake, 11, is the youngest of five pupils to receive new Music Exhibitions, following ABRSM examinations at the end of the Spring term. The Year 6 pupil achieved a Merit in both his Grade 5 Piano and Grade 5 Music Theory exams – and is hoping to complete a hat-trick of top results when he takes Grade 5 Saxophone this Summer.

Exhibitions, in the form of four terms of instrumental tuition funded by the School, are awarded to all those who pass exams at Grade 5 or above with a Merit or a Distinction. On achieving each higher grade, the Exhibition is re-awarded. All Exhibition recipients are expected to be active members of one or more school ensembles so that, while experiencing the fun of performing with others, their music-making experience and repertoire are extended.

Mrs Sally Eddon, Head of Preparatory School Music, said: “I am absolutely delighted with Finley's musical success. He has worked incredibly hard to achieve these magnificent Grade 5 results and fully deserves to be awarded a Music Exhibition. To reach this standard at the age of 11 is absolutely fantastic. Congratulations!”

At the Senior School, four new Exhibitions were awarded to: Tom Palmer (Trumpet) - Grade 7 Merit; Antonia Peters (Percussion) - Grade 6 Distinction; Ben Rice (Singing) - Grade 5 Distinction; Edward Salkield (Singing) - Grade 5 Distinction. Mention must also be made of Sherwin Robinson (Violin) and Clifford Robinson (Cello) who both achieved Distinctions at Grade 8.

Additionally, Exhibitions were re-awarded, at a higher grade, to the following pupils: Jasmine Bayes  (Singing) - Grade 7 Distinction; Katherine Farnden (Singing) - Grade 7 Distinction; Anna Muñoz (Singing) - Grade 7 Distinction and Tom Palmer (Drum Kit) Grade 6 Merit.
