Pupils in Form 1B wrote to the author Gemma Malley about her superb Dystopian story The Declaration - and this week she came to Kimbolton to answer their questions in person!
Gemma's books tackle some big questions and she explained how a lot of her ideas stem from an interest in Philosophy - for instance, “Would you take a drug that stopped you from growing old?” She also discussed her career as a journalist, and revealed how it was an excellent preparation for life as an author (meeting deadlines, self-discipline, writing imaginatively on boring topics!).
Library Resource Manager Mrs Sue Hart said: "Gemma's talk sparked lots of thought-provoking questions from both the First Form and our Reading Group, and Gemma responded with further ideas and wonderful analogies to explain her answers in a very entertaining way."
Afterwards, Gemma commented on how engaging and interested our pupils were. Well done to the First Form and thanks for visiting us, Gemma!
