Biologists Strike Gold in National Competition
Six Senior School pupils achieve Gold Awards in the Royal Society of Biology Challenge.
Six of our Senior School pupils have received Gold awards in the 2016 Royal Society of Biology Challenge. The competition, which is open to 13 to 15 year olds, consists of two 30 minute online papers based on the subject curriculum.
The Challenge also rewards pupils who have increased their knowledge of flora and fauna through reading, watching natural history programmes, and taking note of items of biological interest in the news.
Congratulations to our Gold award winners, who received their awards during school assembly: Umar Chaudhari, Hattie Dent, Holly Fraser, Lewis Giddings, Taylor Harrison and Anushka Shukla.
A further 12 pupils achieved Silver awards: Lydia Carter, James Edwards, Cameron Oldfield, Laurence Palmer, Sadira Pyne-Bailey, JJ Simpson, Isabella Singlehurst-Mooney, Thomas Smith, Aryaki Soni, Shira Webb, Fiz Winters, Harry Young.
Bronze awards went to 19 pupils: Eva Bennett, Victoria Bowland, Oscar Bryden, Angus Carswell, Molly Dean, Harry Douthwaite, Pete Duberly, George Ellison, Fraser Ellson, Charlie Evans, Sophia Farrington, Sam Gregory, Ciane Hilborn, Isabella Jones, Abigail Kerr, Katie Lawrence, Celia Lee, Lewis Meakin, Ruby Milne.
