Football: Boarders 1-0 Boost for Scotland!

Kim House hosts its own international football match ahead of the England-Scotland World Cup qualifier.

Last Friday (11 November) Kim House hosted its own international football match ahead of the England-Scotland World Cup qualifier later that evening. The boarders represented Scotland (captained by Head of House Dan Koutný and managed by Mr Mills) and faced a strong ‘School’ side representing England, captained by the Head Boy Simon Carter and managed by Mr Bates.

Under the direction of the Headmaster as referee, the sides played two 20 minute halves in the near-freezing night air under the floodlights after singing the national anthems for each side. An early free kick from Baderin Tejuoso was finished beautifully by Dan Bentley and the home side were unable to equalise. Thanks to the 40-strong crowd of supporters who turned out to watch, and the excellent commentary by Mr Garland with half-time remarks by Mr Whiteley, which all contributed to a great evening.
