U14 Boys' Hockey Team Through to Regionals
Players progress to the next stage of the National Schools' Championships.
Our U14 Boys’ Hockey team is through to the Regional stage of England Hockey’s National Schools’ Championships, after an impressive performance against The Perse and The Leys yesterday (19 Jan).
Hockey coach Mr Will Kerr-Dineen said: “The boys started fantastically well by beating a highly skilled and highly rated Perse side. Despite losing to the county champions, the Leys, in the second game, the boys kept their composure. In the final game, a point was enough to see them progress through to the regionals for the first time in recent history.”
The boys will now be heading off to Bedford Hockey Club on 23 February for the East Regional round. If they succeed there, they will be one of five teams, one from each region (East, Midlands, North, South, West), who qualify to play in the National finals at the Olympic Park in Lee Valley later this year. Also at the Finals will be the runner up from last year's winning region, plus the two best runners up from this year. Good luck, boys!
