    Riders Rise to the Challenge

Our equestrian team are in the ribbons at the Grand Final of the Bloxham School Eventer Challenge Series.

Kimbolton School Equetsrian TeamOur senior equestrian teams have collected a string of rosettes at the Grand Final of the Bloxham School Eventer Challenge series at Aston le Walls, near Daventry. Sophie Faulkner, Lucy Moore, Poppy Proietti and Claudia Robinson won the 80cm Final, while in the 90cm class Fiona Denton, Anna Price and Katie Jackson were narrowly beaten (by 2 seconds) to finish runners-up. In the overall 90cm League (points accumulated across the series), Kimbolton also finished in second place, with Katie taking individual honours at the top of the leaderboard. In the 80cm League, individual honours went to Poppy (2nd), Sophie (3rd) and Claudia (7th).

Equestrian team manager Mrs Lucy King said: “Our riders performed fantastically well over a course of approximately 30 jumps. Half of these were classic show jumps, while the remainder were solid cross country fences, including logs, tyres, water, ditches, drops and steps."

The Eventer Challenge series began back in October 2016, with riders accumulating points across six competitions, in classes ranging from 65cm to 110cm. Those scoring the most points were invited to return for the grand final on Sunday 26th February 2017, comprising five different classes and difficulty levels.

Next up for our equestrian team is the National Schools Equestrian Association Show Jumping County Challenge Final at Bury Farm in April, where Kimbolton will be representing Cambridgeshire, having qualified last year.
