    Tournament Win for Prep Footballers

Our Prep football teams were on top form this weekend!

Our Prep boys' football teams were on top form this weekend (4 Nov), winning at The Perse Preparatory School in a five-school tournament with a total of eight teams. A mixture of U10 and U11 boys travelled to Cambridge and bravely faced the elements to put on a fantastic display of football.  The enthusiasm and determination of our boys shone through in a series of competitive matches against The Perse, Stephen Perse, St Joseph’s in the Park, Lincroft and Dame Bradbury's.

Having just pipped The Perse in a tight semi-final the A team went on to win the overall competition in a tense final which ended in a penalty shoot-out after extra time against St Joseph's in the Park.  Meanwhile, the B team, who were never outplayed even when facing A teams from the other schools, put on a sparkling display to win the plate competition, beating Stephen Perse.  Special mention goes to U11A goalkeeper Gabriel Rushing, who was awarded Player of the Tournament.

Head of Games Mr Andrew Bull said: “It’s a fantastic result for our boys. We are all incredibly proud of their teamwork and the way they played throughout the tournament.  It was so pleasing to see so much of what we have worked on in lessons put into practice.”

Catch our U11 footballers in action again this Friday 10 November – details of forthcoming fixtures and match reports can be found here.
