    Tournament Double for Prep Netballers

Players finish the season on top form, winning at Laxton and Stamford.

Prep netball players have finished the season on top form, winning both the U11 Laxton Tournament (21 March) and the U10 Stamford Tournament (10 March).

Our U11A girls beat Laxton B 14-0, King’s Ely 15-0 and Wellingborough 6-1, going through to play Stamford in the semi-final (5-3) and claiming victory over Witham Hall in the final (9-4).

Meanwhile our U10A and U10B teams took Gold and Silver medals at Stamford. U10A won the A team tournament (Copthill 1-0, BMS 2-0, Stamford 3-1, Wisbech 2-2), while the B team were silver medallists in their group. They beat BMS 3-1, Stamford 3-1 and lost to Grantham 3-10.

There are plenty of talented players in our younger years, too. The U9A and B teams both came first in their groups in the U9 Stamford Netball Tournament, while the U8s scored convincing wins in their matches against Bilton Grange.

Netball coach Mrs Janet O’Brien said: “We've had a great season of netball at the Prep School. All year groups have showcased a significant improvement in their standard of play since the beginning of term and it is truly gratifying to see the girls play at increasingly higher levels. They should all be extremely proud of the improvement they have made as individuals as well as in their teams.”
