CCF Cadets Take First Solo Jump
Twenty pupils undertake parachute training, culminating in a single solo static-line jump!
oBravo to the twenty Kimbolton School CCF cadets (and two members of staff) who undertook parachute training over the Easter holidays, culminating in a single solo static-line jump.
The two-day course took place at Netheravon, Wiltshire, home of the Army Parachute Association. Day one involved extensive ground training under the tutelage of a military instructor, learning about aircraft exit procedures, canopy and control checks, the parachute landing fall and malfunction drills.
On the second day, our trainee parachutists took to the skies and leapt out at around 3,500ft above Wiltshire’s rolling countryside. A truly unforgettable experience.

The Combined Cadet Force aims to promote personal qualities such as responsibility, resourcefulness and self-reliance via the teaching of leadership, military skills and adventurous training. Kimbolton School's CCF is thriving and has a national reputation for excellence. Over 220 of our pupils opt to participate in CCF training each Thursday afternoon and many also join in with the wealth of extra courses and activities at weekends and during the holidays.
Our CCF Annual General Inspection takes place on Thursday 4 May 2018.
