Year 6 Rise to the Challenge
Pupils enjoy water-and land-based activities, including canoeing, bush craft and orienteering.
Our Year 6 Challenge is underway! The seven-week programme consists of water-and land-based activities, such as canoeing, raft-building, bush craft and orienteering, which are designed to enhance key life skills including team work, problem-solving and resilience.
The sessions take place on Monday afternoons throughout the summer term and are led by the Senior School’s Mr Tony Lucas, Duke of Edinburgh Manager, and Mr Jon Sweet, Head of Outdoor Pursuits, as well as more familiar Prep teachers. All of the challenges take place in our stunning castle grounds and are part of a range of activities designed to help our Year 6 pupils feel confident about their transition to senior school.
Mr Oliver Stokes, Prep School Senior Deputy Head, said: “As well as broadening the curriculum and diversifying the pupils’ learning opportunities further, we also hope it will be incredible fun and a fitting finale to their time with us at the Prep.”
