Prep Swimmers Shine at Olympic Venue

Pupils celebrate their most successful swimming season yet.

Congratulations to Millie A, Tessa Q and Tilda C who all competed at the IAPS National Swimming Finals on 8 June. Held at the legendary London Aquatics Centre, home to the 2012 Olympic Games, this is the largest annual prep school gala in the UK.

All three girls put in strong performances - Millie in the U10 25m butterfly, Tessa in the U11 50m breaststroke and Tilda in the U11 50m freestyle. Around 4000 competitors from over 250 schools took part in the competition’s earlier qualifying rounds, with only the top 20 swimmers in each age group and stroke securing a place in the Final.

Swimming team coach Mrs Jenny Edwards said: “This was our most successful year to date with three swimmers qualifying to swim at the London Aquatic Centre. It really was the culmination of a brilliant season, which saw all of our squad improve in both their swim techniques and times. Well done!”
