    OKA Summer Reunion 2018

     Saturday 30 June 2018

The OKA Summer Reunion is the main event in the OKA calendar. Over the last few years we have welcomed an increasing number of OKs back to the School to meet up with old school friends, play sport and have a look around the School.  The 2018 Summer Reunion is on Saturday 30 June - key information on the activities planned are outlined below; please note that this may change, so please keep an eye on this page nearer the time.
If you are interested in coming along and would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact Helen Hopperton.

Please note - when you arrive, please head to the Saloon in the Castle to sign-in!

    Sports Fixtures

Matches against School teams will be played throughout the day;  the match timings are as follows:

    0900  Canoeing - Huntingdon
    1100  Tennis (Ladies & Men's) - Castle Courts
    1100  Rounders - Heath Field
    1130  1st XI Cricket - Castle Pitch
1300  2nd XI Cricket - Welsted Pitch (Prep School)
    1300  Sailing Grafham Water
1400  Year Group Football Tournament - The Mall

Please contact the relevant Sports Manager or Helen Hopperton if you are interested in playing - although OKs do have a competitive spirit, matches are relaxed with the focus on getting OKs together and enjoyment of the sport in question, so you do not need to be an expert to take part! We are particularly interested in hearing from more tennis players...

    Fun for the Family

OKs are welcome to bring their families along!  For those of you with children there will be a Bouncy Castle and the swimming pool will be open between 2 & 3pm for OKs and their families to use; of course there also the grounds for children to run around, so there should be plenty to keep them busy while you catch up with old school friends.

    School Memorabilia

Photos, old school magazines etc. will be on display in the Green Room all day and the Heritage Room in the Castle will open at 3.00 pm.

OKs are free to wander around the School grounds and any open Buildings (not all the classrooms will be open), however please note that the school is dedicated to the safeguarding of all pupils and staff have a responsibility to question unescorted visitors - please do not be offended therefore if you are approached by a member of staff at any point.

Refreshments are available from 12.00 pm onwards in the guise of a BBQ and Bar; and complimentary Afternoon Tea will be served in the Saloon at 3.00pm.
You are welcome to bring your own picnics!

    Year Group Reunions

The Summer Reunion is a great opportunity to organise year group reunions;  we usually see groups of OKs getting together to celebrate a specific anniversary of leaving school (1st, 5th, 10th ... up to 40th, 50th & 60th!).  If you haven't already been in touch with your old school friends and are interested in getting a group together, please get in touch with the OKA Office who will be happy to help.
We already know of reunions for the following year groups - to find out more about their plans please get in touch with the contact listed:

    1968 Theo Gibbs
    1978 Alan Gilbert
    1998 Ben McMinn
    2003 Andrew Caldeira
    2008 George Beverly
2013 Hattie Gellatly & Josh Doonan

The summer reunion continues into the evening with the OK Summer Ball. This is the most popular event in the OK calendar and we have currently sold out of tickets...  we are, however, holding a waiting list so we can contact people if and when more tickets become available.  If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please book your ticket(s) below and we will be in touch.
