    Below are the Autumn Term 2018 match reports for all of our Prep Girls' hockey teams: U11A-D, U10A-D, U9A-D, U8A-C.

    29 Sept Tournament – St. Faith’s

    The U10A team had a brilliant start to the season by winning the St. Faith's Tournament in style. They beat Felsted 4-0, beat New Hall 4-0 and drew with St. Faiths 0-0, in what was a very exciting and evenly fought contest. All the girls played extremely well but special mention goes to Jemima Davey for her fantastic attacking skills and for scoring 6 of the 8 goals scored and to Millie Hodgson Jones for her dominant defending. 

    The U10B also had a fantastic start to their season. The drew 1-1 against Felsted, Beat New Hall 4-0 and drew against St Faiths 1-1. The last game was down to the wire and the girls pulled together beautifully playing a nail biting game! Overall they won on points and special mention must go to Olive McDougall who never gave up and worked both at attacking and defending and scored many goals.

    7 Nov Tournament – Witham Hall

    The U10A team displayed fantastic teamwork and an outstanding work rate to secure silver medals at the U10 Witham Hall Hockey Tournament. They played the ball beautifully up the pitch and finished with accurate shots at goal. They beat Bedford Girls' School 1-0, beat Witham Hall 'B' 3-0 and Stamford 'B' 8-0. After an exciting semi-final against Laxton, including five minutes of extra time, the score was still 0-0. Penalty shuffles resulted in a 3-2 win. Jemima Davey, Millie Al-Ali and Eva Drury all kept their cool to beat the goalkeeper and score. Special mention goes to Emma Smalley for saving the first Laxton penalty taken. In the final against a strong Witham Hall 'A' team the girls played with determination and purpose but lost 4-0 to come 2nd overall. Player of the Tournament was too difficult to choose so it was awarded to the team as a whole. Well done!

    9 Nov Stephen Perse

    The U10A, B and C teams all played some outstanding hockey in their matches against Stephen Perse. The A team dominated the play from start to finish winning 5-1. Player of the Match - Eva Drury. The B team displayed excellent teamwork to secure a 4-0 win. Player of the Match - Shona Brown. 'Team of the Day' goes to the C team for their amazing attacking skills resulting in a 9-0 win! Player of the Match - Flora McDougall and Georgina Pike.

    20 Sept Stephen Perse U9A 1-4 After an unsure start the A team’s play improved over the second half demonstrating excellent tackling and much better passing.

    U9 B 3-0 The B team demonstrated  lots of attacking play with some super defending by the goal keeper. Player of the match Scarlett Wheeler.
    27 Sept Spratton Hall 

    U9A 1-2 A closely fought match with the winning goal scored in the last minute.  Space awareness and positioning will be the focus for our next session. Player of the match Eliza Reid.

    U9 5-0 What an exciting game! From the start the game was very much an attacking game. The girls worked well as a team and all got stuck in. Wonderful to see how they all pulled together. Player of the match Tilly Dymond.

    U9C 4-2 Spratton Hall got off to a flying start and scored the first goal.  Kimbolton worked really hard which resulted in a win! Player of the match Isabella Hughes.

    4 Oct Hockey Festival – Stamford Junior 

    On the afternoon of Thursday 11th October, the Year 3 girls travelled to Stamford to take part in a Festival of Hockey. It was an exciting adventure from start to finish and the girls participated with great enthusiasm. They played 12 matches between them and only lost 5. Overall, a strong performance by one and all. Well done girls!

    8 Nov Wellingborough 

    U9A 0-2 worked hard against a strong opposition. Some superb defending and saving of attacks on goal. Player of the match Betty MCDougall.

    U9B 4-0 fantastic team playing by all with a strong attacking game from the start. All the girls should feel really proud of how much they have achieved this season. Players of the match Tilly Diamond and Emily Turner.

    U9C 2-1 worked really well with good passing. Great attacking and use of space. Player of the match Kitty Durkin.
