National Pool Lifeguard Qualification intergrated with First Aid at Work
Kimbolton School Swimming Pool NPLQ courses have proved very popoular so early booking is essential.
The NPLQ is widely accepted at swimming pools in both in UK and Ireland as the premier pool lifeguard qualification for the leisure industry. Over 33,000 lifeguards gain the qualification every year and it is generally seen as the best pool lifeguard qualification in the world, offering skills that can be used throughout life. Lifeguarding offers a great, rewarding and potentially long-term career in leisure. Working as a lifeguard is often the first step at the start of a career in the industy.
The NPLQ is included in the current Duke of Edinburgh award list of approved qualifications.
A successful candidate is qualified to work as a pool lifeguard anywhere in the UK, making it the ideal employment for students wishing to work during their university term and during the holiday.
The NPLQ is widely recognised as an essential requirement for working in the leisure industry with a number of key roles requiring the holder to be a qualified lifeguard. A Recreation Assistant or Operations Manager working in the industy are usually required to hold the qualification. A high percentage of Senior Managers in the Leisure Industry begin their career working as a Lifeguard.
The NPLQ qualification is valid for two years and provided the holder continues to attend training during this time they can renew the qualification. A lifeguard must train at least once a month and have 20 hours of training sessions verified by an IQL trainer in order to renew their qualification.
The First Aid at Work qualification intergrated with the NPLQ provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed in most workplaces. Successful canidates will gain a qualification valid for 3 years. The FAW meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.
