Fourth Former Taylor Bounding to Success

Congratulations to Fourth Former Taylor who is bounding (and leaping) to success in the world of dog agility with her two dogs, Elliot and Asher.

Taylor is well on the road to qualification for this year's Junior GB Team.  Shortly before half term, Taylor took part in the Open Junior Agility Championships (OJAC) and was overall medium winner with her dog Elliot. She also came 3rd overall in the small height class with her other dog Asher, and we are delighted to learn that The Kennel Club have recently announced that Taylor has made it through to the final Try Out Weekend at the end of March with both of her dogs!

In other news, it's all systems go for Crufts next week, as Taylor has also qualified both of her dogs for the Young Kennel Club (YKC) agility at Crufts this year in four different classes and the dogs have enjoyed their last physio checks and hydrotherapy sessions this week in readiness!  Whilst it will be Elliott's 7th time competing at Crufts, it will be a first for Asher!  Taylor will also be demonstrating with Elliott on one of the training stands, meeting sponsors, and taking part in a lap of honour in the main arena with last year's Junior GB Team for their medal success at the Junior World Championships.

    ** UPDATE FROM CRUFTS **

After winning the small YKC Jumping semi final and making it into the main arena, in the final, they did a great clear round and came 4th overall with all heights combined.  Asher also won the small YKC Graduate Agility and the small YKC Pairs.

Elliott, Taylor's older dog, was competing at his 7th Crufts! He did a lovely clear round in the YKC ABC (Anything But Collie) and came 7th with all heights combined. He also ran in the YKC Pairs and came 4th in the medium. He is a pro at competing at Crufts these days, but at 10 years old he is not as competitive speed-wise as he used to be - but he still did really well and had a great time!

Overall a brilliant Crufts which has set Taylor and both spaniels in great stead for the final GB tryout weekend.

The Open Junior Agility Championships is an event just for juniors run by the Team GB coach and is judged by one of this year's World Championship judges.  Crufts is an international dog show held annually in the United Kingdom, first held in 1891. Organised and hosted by The Kennel Club, it is the largest show of its kind in the world.
