Show Jumpers Crowned County Champions
Our senior equestrian team take top honours in National Schools competition.
Our Senior School show jumpers have been crowned County champions after taking top honours at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) County Challenge Cambridgeshire Qualifier last weekend (29th Oct). Our teams completed a Kimbolton hat-trick at the College of West Anglia, winning the 80cm, 90cm and 1m classes, with Anna Price claiming individual victory in both the 90cm and 1m competitions. This means that our riders will now represent Cambridgeshire at the NSEA Show Jumping County Challenge Final in February 2017. Congratulations to all our riders, from the First to the Lower Sixth Forms: Fiona Denton, Josh Denton, Anna Duberly, Eve Duberly, Sophie Faulkner, Katie Jackson, Lucy Moore, Anna Price, Poppy Proietti, Katherine Watson.
Their success follows some strong results earlier in the month, when our riders also took part in the NSEA National Championships at Addington, Bucks (24th Oct). Team Manager Mrs Lucy King said: “We had great team performances in both the jumping with style and show jumping. Josh, Eve, Fiona, Katie, Daisy and Anna all rode well to finish 32nd and 24th nationally. Josh also came 3rd in an Eventer Challenge during half term.
This week was the equestrian team’s Annual Show at Backnoe End, which saw a great turn out of riders, with the competition classes enjoyed by all. Thank you to all riders and parents who supported and helped out at the event.
