Prep Spring Concert
Pupils from Years 3-6 put on an entertaining evening of music for family and friends, raising funds for research into muscular dystrophy.
Our Upper Prep pupils put on an entertaining evening of music for family and friends at our annual Spring Concert on 7 February. A total of 158 pupils performed at the packed evening event, including all of our extra-curricular music groups as well as both the Junior and Senior Choirs. Highlights included a whole choir performance of the songs 'When I Grow Up' and 'My House' from Matilda, the theme tune from Titanic by the hand-chimes group, and some impressive violin, clarinet and piano solos from our Year 6 musicians.
Head of Prep Music Mrs Sally Eddon said: “Congratulations to all of our pupils who performed so beautifully, confidently and professionally on Tuesday evening. You were an absolute credit to the school and the musical talents displayed were amazing - Bravo!"
The retiring collection for our 'Practice-athon' charity "Dan's Hope" raised £601.18. Our Practice-athon continues until the end of February, with an impressive proportion of our Upper Prep pupils, as well as our Lower Prep Ministrings and Stringlets groups, signed up for the sponsored month-long event. They have all pledged to practise playing an instrument every day - developing their musical skills, while earning valuable sponsorship from family and friends.
