    National Trophy for RAF Cadets

Kimbolton wins the Royal Air Squadron Trophy.

Kimbolton RAF cadets have won the National Finals of the Royal Air Squadron Trophy, against tough competition from nine other teams.

The annual competition is open to all 200+ schools who have an RAF section in their CCF, and tests 7 skills: Drill, Shooting, First Aid, Command Task, Aircraft Recognition, Fitness, and RAF Knowledge. All of the cadets competing had qualified through a series of regional competitions, with the top two teams from each area securing a place in the Finals at RAF Halton.

Kimbolton’s consistency across the disciplines helped our team to first place overall, with the following positions in individual events:

    1st in Fitness
2nd in RAF Knowledge, Shooting, Command Task, Aircraft Recognition
    3rd in Drill

Team captain Sgt Meakin led with calm authority, while Sgt Giddings led the Command Task. The rest of the team were: CWO Atkins, Sgt Smalley, Cpl Ellison, Cpl Lawrence, Cpl Brand, Cpl Rice, L/Cpl Brand, Cdt Moerman, Cdt Atkins, Cdt Barrett, and Cdt Elliott. We are also grateful to Cdt Anderson who travelled as our reserve.

    Congratulations to you all!
