U12 Boys’ Hockey Team Through to Regionals!

Impressive team performance in Cambridgeshire tournament, with not one goal conceded.

Our U12A Boys’ Hockey team have booked their place in the Regional finals of the England Hockey In2Hockey Championships. Their impressive performance – with not one goal conceded in five matches – saw them finish second on goal difference in the Cambridgeshire tournament on 13th February.

They beat Joyce Frankland Academy 1-0 in the opening encounter before winning 4-0 against Saffron Walden County High and 2-0 against The Perse. They followed this with a draw against St Faith's and a 1-0 victory against Stephen Perse.

Hockey coach Mr Jack Middleton said: “The boys played some fantastic hockey in a series of highly competitive matches, with goals scored by Cassius, Sam and Ethan. However, no one player stood out - it really was an all-round team performance, highlighted by the boys’ ability to keep a clean sheet all tournament. They thoroughly deserve their place in the next round of the competition – well done, boys!”

The boys' success comes hot on the heels of our U14A Boys' Hockey team, who qualified for the Regional round of the Notts Sport Boys’ School Championship earlier this term.
