Top 100 School for Cricket
Kimbolton named as one of the Top 100 cricketing schools in the UK, in The Cricketer’s Schools Guide 2020.
Kimbolton has been named as one of the Top 100 cricketing schools in the UK, in The Cricketer magazine's respected Schools Guide 2020. Our inclusion follows an exhaustive process in which schools were judged against an extensive set of criteria, with the chosen establishments having outstanding facilities, fixture programmes and coaching.
Cricket at Kimbolton benefits from a team of experienced coaches led by professional ex-England player Alex Tudor. With five well-maintained pitches, indoor and outdoor nets, as well as a new Merlyn spin bowling machine, there are plenty of opportunities for pupils of all ages and abilities to hone their batting, bowling and fielding skills at both the Prep and Senior School.
In addition, we regularly invite world-class cricketers to our school to share their knowledge and expertise. Next Friday 29 November, we are looking forward to hosting an evening of cricketing culture with Sir Alastair Cook CBE and Alec Stewart OBE. Earlier this year, we welcomed former West Indies captain Sir Garfield Sobers and former England captain Graham Gooch OBE.
The Cricketer magazine editor Simon Hughes said: “The Schools Guide is, as ever, a fantastic publication that celebrates schools cricket and gives deserved praise to all those teachers and coaches who put in the hard work to develop our future club, county and international cricketers.”
The 124-page guide, which features the top 100 senior and the top 50 prep/junior schools, is available with the December issue of The Cricketer (out 22 Nov) and on The Cricketer website (from 13 Dec).
