Kimbolton debaters are through to National Final of the European Youth Parliament competition, after winning the East Anglia Forum earlier this month. Our team of eight students travelled to Churchill College, Cambridge, where an excellent performance saw them win the event for the eighth time since 2010, ahead of other schools from across the region.
Debating Coordinator Mr Joseph Newsam said: "Ross, Harry, Georgie, Becky, Noah, Alex, Tadi and Joe were commended for their constructive and well-researched contributions to debate, their carefully structured speeches and their excellent teamwork. Tadi and Alex gave particularly strong speeches to help secure enough support to pass our own resolution on the return of cultural artefacts to their country of origin, whilst a range of other issues were discussed including vaccine hesitancy, the gig economy, refugees and fast fashion."
Congratulations to the team and best of luck at the 4-day national event at Liverpool University later this year.
