    Violinists Make the Grade

Music examination results reflect our Prep pupils' talent.

The Prep School is celebrating some excellent Associated Board music results following exams at the of last term. In total, twenty one pupils took exams in December, with 67% of candidates achieving either a Merit or Distinction.

We are particularly proud of some super violin results, with Jemima, Ema and Camila (with Merit) achieving success at Grade 3, and Emily achieving a Merit in her Grade 4 exam. To reach this sort of standard at junior school age is exceptional - many congratulations to them all!

Mr Sally Eddon, Head of Music at the Prep School, said: "Camila, Emily and Jemima are products of our highly successful Lower Prep String projects, Year 1 “Stringlets” and Year 2 “Ministrings”. Both groups offer an early experience of learning the violin in a fun and pro-active way, and it is clear we are beginning to see the benefit of starting youngsters off early with formal string lessons."
