'A Lively Debate'

Pupils from Kimbolton and Longsands Academy enjoyed a lively debate yesterday (25 February), when we hosted a ‘Philosophy for Children’ (P4C) workshop.
First and Second Form Kimbolton pupils interested in Philosophy joined with Longsands' pupils to engage in an afternoon of thinking and discussion, focussed on the question: “Is bad behaviour ever acceptable?” A lively exchange of views ensued, with pointers from Mrs Poole and Ms Saklani, as pupils considered issues around behaviour such as responsibility (national and personal) and power.
All in all, it was an impressive joint display of Socratic dialogue, thinking, respectful discussion and considered conclusions. This is the fifth year we have run these Philosophy workshops, with one taking place each term - we look forward to a return visit to Longsands soon.
