Creative Weekend for Sixth Form Artists

Art and Photography students develop their skills at Burwell House.

Our Sixth Form Art students recently enjoyed a three-day residential retreat at Burwell House. 25 artists and photographers enjoyed the chance to work on independent, individual projects - including life drawing and outdoor night photography. The annual trip, a highlight of our Arts calendar, is a chance for students to start large projects, experiment, work together, and take artistic risks.

The trip concluded with an ensemble photo shoot, loosely based on the work of Tim Walker, whose highly imaginative images are inspired by a love of fairy tales and adventure.

Head of Art Mrs Lisa Bamford said: “The photography students had to compose and run the shoot, with our art students as their models. The results were stunning. Thanks to the Drama department for letting us raid their costume store!”
