Our 'purple paddlers' have won the schools' teams category in the Waterside Series 2023, ahead of the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race (DW) which takes place over Easter weekend (7-10 April). The four marathon races are held on the Kennet and Avon Canal during spring and are recognised as the classic build-up to DW - although the series offers its own challenge and to complete all four races is an achievement in itself. 

The final race of the series, Waterside D, was a 34-mile paddle in cold, damp, windy conditions, from Devizes to Newbury, with some great results for our six crews:

Noah and Ben: 2nd junior K2
Tom and Toby: 3rd junior K2
Izzy and Kai: 3rd mixed K2
Rachel and Emily: 3rd female K2
Harry and Peter (OK): 2nd junior-veteran K2
Izzy and Mr Sweet: 3rd junior-veteran K2
