    Chemists are in Their Element

Success for Sixth Form scientists in annual Cambridge University Chemistry Challenge.

Lower Sixth Form Chemists were in their element for the annual Cambridge University Chemistry Challenge. Bradley, Sam and Xavier achieved Gold awards, Benji, Nathan, Mark and Lance took Silver, while Amya, Christian, India, Izzy, Lisa, Lucy, Matthew and Talia all gained Copper awards in the prestigious scientific competition.

The event is organised by St Catherine’s College, Cambridge, alongside the University’s Chemistry Department. The 90-minute written paper aims to stretch and challenge Lower Sixth Form students interested in chemistry, and provides an excellent experience for anyone considering taking their studies further.

Mr Ewan Drysdale, Head of Chemistry, said: “The Challenge poses questions inspired by the A-level syllabus but taking them further and deeper to really test students’ skills and abilities. Well done all of you!”
