Congratulations Dan! The Third Former has been called up to the England Powerchair squad for this year’s FIPFA World Cup in Sydney, Australia. 

His selection follows an historic treble title haul for his team, Aspire, who won the South East Regional League in May, followed this month by the National Premiership League and the Wheelchair Football Association Cup Final – televised live on BT Sport. 

The Para Lions will take an eight-strong group to the World Cup competition, the pinnacle of powerchair sport which features ten nations, and runs from 15-21 October. 

James Watkins, England Football senior technical performance manager said: “Our players will test themselves against the top nations in the world and the competition offers a unique but challenging game structure, with all ten teams playing each other in the group stage before progressing to the seeded games. 

“It is particularly exciting that this squad has a great blend of experience and youth and this is testament to the strength of our national league and club structure.”
