Abington playing fields was the setting for the 1st round of the ESAA (English Schools’ Athletic Association) Cross Country Cup Competition 2023, last Friday. With Kimbolton teams in the Junior and Inter Girls & Boys races, the 4 teams worked hard over a flat and fast course.  

Some impressive running from all involved resulted in a 6th for the Inter girls, 2nd placed team for the Inter and Junior boys and a win for the Junior girls. With Inter and Junior boys plus Junior girls qualifying for the regional round, last Friday saw a trip to Stowe and a challenging, hilly course.  

Determination all the way from the Kimbolton teams saw the Inter boys finishing in 8th position and the Junior boys, comprising Josh, Rafferty, Hugo, Elliot, Luca and Alfie finishing in 3rd place. The Junior girls, Tiggy, Clara, Thea, Olivia Ge, Olivia Gr and Hannah, were in outstanding form and won the regional round! 

Both Junior teams will now compete in the National Finals at Woodbridge School in December. Very well done to all!
