Georgie, a talented student from Kimbolton School, has achieved a remarkable feat by gaining acceptance into the prestigious National Youth Theatre (NYT). With approximately 6,500 aspiring actors vying for a spot annually, Georgie's accomplishment places her amongst the top 8% of applicants. The National Youth Theatre boasts a rich legacy, counting luminaries like Dame Helen Mirren, Daniel Craig, and Kate Winslet amongst its esteemed alumni.

Georgie's journey to securing her place in the NYT was not without its challenges. Reflecting on the rigorous audition process, Georgie remarked, "The application process included putting together a video audition of a monologue of my choice. It is quite tricky to find one that allows you to showcase your skill as well as being relevant to your age and Mrs Lace was very helpful in advising me on possible options."

Under the guidance of Mrs Lace, Georgie honed her skills and prepared diligently for the audition. Mrs Lace's mentorship proved invaluable as Georgie navigated through the intricacies of the audition process. "I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Mrs Lace who helped me choose my monologue and prepared me for the audition," Georgie expressed gratefully.

Sharing her passion for drama, Georgie fondly reminisced about her experiences in school productions, where she forged lasting bonds with fellow students. "I love doing drama productions as we all become a family over the course of rehearsals, and the ups and downs during the performances create amazing memories that I will always laugh at," Georgie shared. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Georgie found solace and fulfilment in her roles, including portraying Trunchbull in "Matilda."

Currently serving as a student director for the Junior play, Georgie is enthusiastic about gaining insights into the intricacies of production. However, her heart lies on the stage, and she eagerly anticipates her return to the school production next term.

Georgie's journey with the National Youth Theatre is set to continue as she embarks on a two-week membership course over the summer. Upon successful completion, Georgie will join the ranks of NYT company members, unlocking opportunities to participate in productions, workshops, masterclasses, and access to TV and film castings.

Georgie's selection into the National Youth Theatre is a testament to her talent, dedication, and the unwavering support of her mentors at Kimbolton School. As she takes her next steps towards a promising future in the world of theatre, Georgie's star continues to rise, shining brightly on both the stage and beyond.
