    Peer Support for Pupils

Fourth Form pupils lend their support to Year 6 pupils at Greenfields Primary, Kettering.

As part of our continuing partnership with Greenfields Primary School in Kettering, 14 of our Fourth Form pupils have this term been focusing with Year 6 children on what it means to be an "active bystander". In their role as mentors, they have been busy creating activities, games and discussions to explore the themes of personal responsibility, compassion for others, and being proactive in supporting their friends in difficult situations. Role-play, drama, art and even an escape room all featured in their sessions, which they successfully designed, ran and led for two separate mornings in February and March.

Our pupils have found it to be a great way to grow their confidence and take on some extra responsibility, while having a positive impact on younger children. All the mentors showed empathy, patience and diligence when working with the Year 6s, and proudly represented Kimbolton with their maturity and kindness throughout the process.

We look forward to welcoming the Greenfields' pupils to our campus in Summer term, where they will be learning about the transition to secondary school while having a taste of the many exciting new subjects they will study in their new schools.
