Politics Trip Gets Students Vote
Politics students visit Westminster and watch the Rwanda appeals in the Supreme Court.
Our Lower Sixth Form Politics students enjoyed a memorable trip to London this week, to visit the Supreme Court, The Houses of Parliament and Whitehall. Students watched barristers for the government defending its Rwanda policy, visited the House of Commons and House of Lords, and met Tom Pursglove, the Conservative MP for Corby and East Northamptonshire.
Mr Pursglove, who has previously visited Kimbolton to talk at our regular Politics Society events, shared his own views with students and gave a fascinating glimpse into the work of an MP, Parliament and Government.
Head of Politics Mr Toby Leadbetter, said: “We had a most interesting trip with the Rwanda hearing going on right in the heart of power. The day was much enjoyed by the students, who showed inquisitiveness and an appreciation of the importance of the democratic institutions.”
