Prep Pupils Step Back in Time
Year 6 pupils visit a former Victorian school as part of their History studies.
As part of their History studies, Year 6 pupils recently enjoyed a visit to a former Victorian school in the village of Stibbington. Imagining they had travelled back in time to 1896, they immersed themselves in Victorian school life, made Christmas decorations and cards, sung carols and had the opportunity to play with Victorian toys at break time. They even got to experience a lesson inside a Victorian classroom!
Year 6 teacher Mrs Evans said: “All of the children made a fantastic effort to dress up in period clothing for the occasion and the experience certainly helped consolidate their knowledge of the era. The children learned about family life and school days for children in rural Victorian Britain, and compared modern and Victorian schooling and lifestyles.”
