Runners Qualify for County Championships
Success at Cambridgeshire Schools’ District Cross-Country Championships.
Kimbolton runners put in an impressive performance at the Cambridgeshire Schools’ District Cross-Country Championships in Hinchingbrooke Country Park (17 Nov). With dry and sunny running conditions and good going underfoot, all those involved achieved excellent results.
The Junior Girls’ event (Second and Third Form) saw Jemima, Camille and Eloise taking individual 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively – with seven of our runners finishing in the top 16. First Form athletes also stood out in the Minor Girls and Minor Boys races (First Form), with Emma and Harrison both claiming individual honours, followed by George who ran a good race to finish 2nd, and Boo in 5th. Other notable individual performances came from Aaron, 3rd in Intermediate Boys (Fourth and Fifth Form), and Elliot, finishing 6th in a strong field of Junior Boys (Second and Third Form).
PE teacher Mrs Kate Gilbert said: “Very well done to all those who competed. Thirty of our pupils finished in the top 16 in their respective events and have been selected to represent the District at the County Championships, on Saturday 15 January. Good luck all of you!”
