    Combined Cadet Force

The Combined Cadet Force aims to promote personal qualities such as responsibility, resourcefulness and self-reliance via the teaching of leadership, military skills and adventurous training.

Our CCF is thriving and has a national reputation for excellence. Over 220 of our pupils opt to participate in CCF training each Thursday afternoon and many also join in with the wealth of extra courses and activities at weekends and during the holidays.  Each year, all of our cadets participate in Field Weekend, a 48-hour long training period at a local military or adventurous training site, and we also offer places at single Service residential camps during some of the holidays.

Membership of the CCF opens up opportunities to participate in MOD-run cadet courses ranging from leadership to parachuting, and first aid to scuba diving.  Many of our pupils have attended courses such as these and gained valuable qualifications as well as the opportunity to work with cadets from other units.

We have three CCF sections:  Royal Navy, Army and RAF.  Most of our Thursday afternoon training takes place within our extensive campus, but we also take advantage of our location close to Grafham Water for RN sailing, RAF Wyton for flying and various nearby ranges for full-bore shooting.

Although we are proud of those Old Kimboltonians who have gone on to join the Armed Forces, the CCF is not a recruiting organisation; membership brings with it no liability for compulsory service or training within the Armed Services.
